SARWAR HAMID (Kicks Brighton) has his first 5 round fight against Shane Bennett from Paul Wiffen’s Gym in Kent and had a unanimous points win. The dinner show put on by promoter Pat O Keefe had referee Bob Hunt and World Kickboxing Champion Kash Gill in attendance.

A cagey first round from both fighters with Hamid sizing his fighter up and looking for the openings. The second saw both fighters being far busier, Hamid was using his kicks well and Bennet was cutting the distance down to work his hands which had some effect as the round finished on an accurate right hand from Bennett. The third saw Hamid powering in his kicks working both hands and twisting Bennett when in close. Bennett received a count after being knocked down by a lead leg round kick to the head. The fourth saw Hamid working his kicks to the body before going up to the head, and Bennett being knocked back by the hard hitting side kicks and jabs. In the fifth Bennett was being urged by his corner to cut the distance down, but was wary of getting in, and in the middle of the round was caught with a perfectly executed spinning jumping round kick which wobbled him. Bennett finished the round but there was only going to be one winner and that was Sarwar Hamid.
