BATTLE OF KENT 16

SUNDAY 17th MARCH

LORDSHILL LEISURE CENTRE

Enjoyable day at IKF Sanctioned Light Continuous Event run by Colin Payne. Usual Well Run and Organised Event which started promptly at 10am and had all our 11 fighters finished and heading home by 1pm.  Nice friendly atmosphere among all the fighters and clubs.  Results were a mixed bag, but we were more than happy with everyone who fought: and for several of those novice fighters who’ve only been training since October this was their first experience of moving around in a ring, let alone being in a fight in it.

WINS
Thomas Kovaricek (Btn) v Jim Keysell (TKO Maidstone).
Mark Mantell (Btn) v George Taturu (NKKA)
Ramy Ghazal (Sussex Uni) v Max Hutton (Fighting Tigers)
Chris Vella (Sussex Uni) v Andy Deacon (Versatile)

LOSSES
Jamie Brown(Btn)  v Jay Huntley (TKO)
Robert Kenly(Btn)  v Ben Mitchell
Ken McDonald (Sussex Uni ) v Lloyd Knight (NKKA)
Maxwell McGerr (Eastbourne) v Jon Hesselwood (Titan)
Sanzhi Nambrayn (Sussex Uni) v Daniel Brotherhood (Falcon Thanet)
Lucy Newman(Btn)  v Sarah Worsford (Falcons)
Daryl Ronato (Sussex Uni) v Steven Read (Animal)

With these big events and up to 80 fights going on; and the decision often only being made by one judge. you know if it’s a close fight you’re not going to agree with all the decisions. Over time however the ones that go your club’s way balance out against the others that maybe don’t. Today however it does feel worth giving a mention to Sanzhi Nambrayn from Sussex Uni who’s only been training a couple of months, and who we felt clearly won every round of his bout so were literally (and very clearly) really puzzled when the decision was given. Onward and Upwards Sanzhi!
